Summary

1999-01-29: BSK290 B747 departing Gander Intl reported loss of # 2 engine. Pilot declared an emergency and returned Gander landing safely 2304z. Fuel dump prior to arrival. TSB case closed. UPDATE : Cador number 99A0040 was a duplicate of 99A0036. Cador number 99A0040 is cancelled. Update: The last stage Turbine blades were all broken off and the next stage forward of that was badly damaged. The engine failure was contained. The number two engine was secured for a two-engine ferry and the remaining engines were inspected. TSB file # A99A0008
