Accident at SUDBURY ON (CYSB) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown, Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition, Aerodrome - operations)


1997-01-20: The Bearskin Airlines aircraft (operating as BLS384) was on an IFR flight from Sault Ste. Marie Airport (CYAM) to Sudbury Municipal Airport (CYSB). After landing on runway 04, the aircraft entered a snowbank approximately 3,500 feet down the runway and about 100 feet from the intersection with runway 12/30. No injuries were reported. Ops. impact -- the airport was closed until 0213Z; five (5) aircraft delayed in and out of Sudbury.
