Incident at Points North Landing, SK

Summary

1997-12-23: C-FASD was departing Points North on a charter flight to Stony Rapids with 1 crew and 2 passengers. Shortly after lift-off when the a/c was about 25-50 feet AGL, the left engine lost power. The pilot continued with a single engine climb, secured the left engine and came back to make an uneventful landing. Maintenance found water in the left wing fuel tank drains, in spite of the fact that the pilot reported draining the tanks prior to the flight. The company will file an SDR with Transport Canada.
