Incident at Winnipeg, MB

Summary

1997-12-18: KFA 273 was enroute from Hamilton to Winnipeg (YWG), and when the a/c was about 60 miles east of YWG, the crew advised ATC that the a/c had a hydraulic problem. The crew requested CFR to be on standby for the landing, and the a/c landed on Runway 18 at 0911Z without further incident. Another company a/c, KFA 275 which was following KFA 273, was slightly delayed on approach, while KFA 273 landed and cleared the runway. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE During the descent, the crew observed that the "A" hydraulic system pressure and fluid quantity decreased to near zero. They requested priority handling for their approach, and lowered the flaps and gear manually. Maintenance found that the "A" pressure line was leaking, so they replaced the line and the system was found to work normally.
