Accident at Edmonton, AB

1997-12-10: C-GFDX departed from City Centre Airport in Edmonton for an IFR flight to High Prairie, and on approach into High Prairie, the pilot was unable to lower the nose gear. He elected to return to City Centre, where he was still unsuccessful in extending the nose gear, and he then diverted to the International airport where CFR is available. With the nose gear in the up position, the pilot re-positioned his passenger to a rear seat, and carried out a landing on Runway 20. There were no injuries, and the damage to the a/c included bent propellors and scuffing of the nose gear doors, and the underside of the nose. A TSB investigator attended the scene, and it is suspected that the nose gear oleo was flat prior to departure, and may have been caught up in the wheel well. More details will follow.
