Incident at 6430N 134W over Yukon Territory

Summary

1997-12-02: NWA 29 was enroute from Detroit to Seoul at FL 350, and the crew reported moderate turbulence at 165 miles east of ALTUB at 0220Z. About 15 minutes later, the crew reported severe turbulence, and the a/c made an uncontrolled deviation from their cruise altitude to FL 346. The crew brought the a/c back to FL 350 and reported continuous moderate turbulence. OPI - System Safety
