Incident at Thompson, MB

1997-11-27: SGK 218 was departing on an IFR trip to Brochet with 2 crew and 2 passengers, when FSS staff advised the crew that the left cargo door of the a/c had popped open during takeoff. The crew then joined the circuit and landed on Runway 05 at 2150Z. Company maintenance determined that the door had not been fully closed by the crew prior to takeoff, and that the baggage door circuit breaker had popped, which prevented the door warning light from illuminating. The cargo door was inspected for structural damage and none was found. The circuit breaker was re-set, and the door opened and closed numerous times, with no faults. OPI - System Safety
