Incident at Chestermere Lake, AB

Summary

1997-10-17: The float-equipped Cessna 185E was parked at Chestermere Lake, and the Strathmore detachment of the RCMP reported that the a/c's right float had sunk and that the right wing was almost touching the water. Fuel was leaking out of the vent into the water, which was causing some concern to the local fire department. The left float was then sunk and the a/c came to rest in shallow water which was about 18 inches below the fuselage.
