Incident at Regina, SK

Summary

1997-10-15: CDR 1328 departed from Regina (YQR) for Calgary with 6 crew and 86 passengers, and shortly after takeoff the crew advised ATC that the landing gear horn continued to sound after the gear and flaps were raised. The horn could not be silenced, and after consulting with company maintenance, the crew elected to divert to the company maintenance base at Saskatoon. Maintenance found one of the two flap position switches to be unserviceable. That switch triggers the warning horn when it senses that the flaps are extended more than 15 degrees without the gear being down.
