Incident at Prince Albert, SK (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1997-10-01: ASK 701 was taxiing onto Runway 08 for departure to Saskatoon, when the crew reported to FSS that the a/c's nosewheel steering had ceased to function. The nosewheel was in the turning position and the a/c could not straighten out. Maintenance came out to examine the a/c, and were able to free the nosewheel sufficiently to enable the crew to taxi using differential power. The a/c taxied to the apron after being on the runway for about 20 minutes. No other a/c were inconvenienced by the incident. ASK 701 was repaired in a short time, and departed on it's scheduled flight.
