Incident at 30 E of Calgary, AB (Conflict - loss of separation)
1997-09-17: ACA 164 departed Calgary for Toronto and was climbing out to the east, when the crew had to deviate from the outbound track to avoid weather. At the same time, CDR 1305 was descending into Calgary on a trip from Saskatoon and the departure controller was unable to maintain the required separation between the two a/c. ACA 164 infringed on the airspace that protects vertical separation. NavCanada is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
