Incident at Calgary, AB (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1997-09-11: ACA 845 was inbound to Calgary after a flight from Europe with 280 people on board, and as the a/c was on a 3 mile final for Runway 34, the crew reported a hydraulic failure. They requested ERS to be on standby, and ACA 845 landed safely and stopped on the runway. The crew reported that they had no nosewheel steering and would require a tow to the terminal, so the runway was closed for about 20 minutes while the a/c was cleared. UPDATE On final approach, the crew received an indication of the loss of the "green" hydraulic system. Maintenance examination revealed a leaking hydraulic line to the left outboard aileron. The line was tightened and a leak check carried out. The fluid was replenished and the a/c put back in service.
