Accident at Stettler, AB


1997-09-03: C-GMYN was taking off from Stettler with only the pilot on board, when the pilot lost control and drifted off to the side of the runway and struck a fence which surrounds the airport property. It was reported that there was a crosswind at the time, which may have contributed to the accident. The pilot was not injured, but the a/c is reported to be substantially damaged. UPDATE The a/c was taking off from Runway 07 with a southerly crosswind of about 15-20 mph, and the a/c drifted to the left and struck the fence with the left main gear. The a/c overturned, causing substantial damage.
