Incident at PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE / SOUTHPORT MB (CYPG)

Summary

1997-08-27: Mustang 84, a Beechcraft C90, was in the circuit for Runway 31L when the pilot advised Tower of an unsafe indication on the right main gear. ERS responded and was on standby as Mustang 84 landed without further incident at 1907Z. As a precaution, the a/c stopped on the runway where maintenance put a pin in the gear and towed the a/c to the hangar. Field Aviation, the maintenance contractor for the Beechcraft fleet, is investigating the cause of the problem. UPDATE Maintenance discovered a burned out light bulb in the gear indicator, so the bulb was replaced and the a/c put back in service.
