Incident at 80 N of Yellowknife, NWT

Summary

1997-08-14: C-GHPW was enroute from Cambridge Bay to Yellowknife with a crew of 4 at FL 310 when the crew saw the number two engine gearbox chip light illuminate. The crew shut down the engine and continued to destination without further incident. Maintenance could find no discrepancies with the engine, which had just been installed a week earlier (CADORS 97C0522). The a/c was returned to service and the problem has not recurred during several flights.
