Incident at La Ronge, SK

1997-08-13: C-GEQC was departing from La Ronge for a fire suppression mission, when the pilot saw a fire indication light for the number two engine. This happened just after rotation, so the pilot continued the takeoff, dumped the load of fire suppressant and shut down the engine prior to landing the a/c. A section of the exhaust stack had broken, allowing hot exhaust gases to contact the fire detection ring.
