Accident at Kelly Lake, NWT

Summary

1997-08-11: C-FDMA was preparing for a charter flight with a pilot and 3 passengers on board, but after 2 aborted takeoff attempts in strong and gusty winds, the pilot elected to taxi back to the shore and remain there for the evening. As he was taxiing to the shore which was about 300 feet away, the pilot felt a gust of wind lift the tail of the a/c. Moments later, the a/c overturned. The 4 occupants were able to exit the a/c safely with no injuries and waited until morning to be picked up by another a/c.
