Incident at Winnipeg, MB

1997-08-06: PAG Trainer 1 was on a local training flight with 3 crew when the pilot advised ATC of a problem with the left engine. The crew shut down the engine and returned to YWG where the a/c landed safely on Runway 36 at 1350Z. CFR was on standby during the incident. UPDATE During the training flight, the left engine was shut down as part of the training exercise, and during engine restart, the engine start control relay circuit breaker popped. It was re-set, but popped again during another start attempt, so the crew left the engine shut down and returned to YWG. Maintenance stated that the problem was a faulty start control speed switch.
