Accident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM)

Summary

1998-09-08: The pilot of the float-equipped ultralight had recently finished construction of the a/c and was doing some circuits on the Snye River. He then decided to go for a local flight, and as he crossed a treeline on the side of a hill during his climb, the a/c apparently stalled. The a/c rolled violently to the left, and back to the right, then left again before pitching nose down. The a/c struck a tree with the left wing before the pilot was able to regain control. He was not injured and was able to land the a/c without further incident, but the a/c sustained damage to the wing.
