Incident at North Battleford, SK

Summary

1997-07-21: Snowbirds 10 and 11 departed North Battleford for Calgary when the pilot of Snowbird 11 advised Regina FSS that he was returning to North Battleford because of a hydraulic problem. The pilot declared an emergency and ERS was requested to be on standby. North Battleford airport staff reported that the a/c landed gear-up on Runway 30 at 1603Z. There was some smoke emanating from the fuselage, and the airport staff applied some foam around the a/c. The pilot was not injured and the runway was NOTAMed closed for about 24 hours.
