Incident at Whitecourt, AB

Summary

1997-06-27: C-GGMK was enroute from Springbank to Donnelly when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit. He declared an emergency and diverted to Whitecourt where he landed safely at 1638Z. Emergency vehicles were on standby. TSB has been notified and will investigate. UPDATE Investigation found no evidence of fire and the source of the smoke could not be identified. A small leak in the glycol based de-icing system is suspected as a possible cause. The smoke did not recur on the test flight and the a/c continued on to it's destination.
