Incident at Edmonton, AB

Summary

1997-06-23: When CDN 648 was on a 3 1/2 mile final for Runway 02, the Tower Controller informed Terminal that the a/c had not contacted Tower. This was also expressed to Terminal as the a/c passed the two mile point. Finally, the a/c landed without ever establishing radio contact with Tower and without clearance. Both Terminal and Tower tried unsuccessfully to communicate with the a/c and the crew's first contact with Tower personnel was when they called Ground after exiting the runway and reported cloud tops.
