Incident at Calgary, AB


1997-06-27: KFA 574 was on final for Runway 28 when the pilot advised that he had an unsafe gear indication. The a/c overshot and circled in the local area to attempt to rectify the problem. CFR was called to be on standby and the a/c landed safely on Runway 34 without further incident. UPDATE The a/c flew past the tower and tower personnel were unable to confirm gear position. An RCMP helicopter flew past the a/c and the crew advised that the gear of the CNV580 appeared to be down. The a/c landed safely with CFR on standby. Maintenance determined that the problem was a faulty microswitch and the a/c was returned to service.
