Incident at 10 nm East of Key Lake, SK

Summary

1997-06-18: C-FQVE had departed from Key Lake on a scheduled flight with 47 people on board to Prince Albert. As the a/c was climbing through 10,000 feet, the crew saw an opposite direction DHC-6 Twin Otter, C-FMPC, which was VFR from La Ronge to Stony Rapids at 10,500 feet. The crew of C-FQVE, which had just received an IFR clearance, maneuvered the a/c to increase separation from C-FMPC. Weather conditions were scattered to broken cloud, with a clear area where the incident took place.
