Accident at Calgary, AB


1998-09-08: The balloon was on a sightseeing flight with a pilot and four passengers over southwest Calgary. On departure, the winds were light and variable, but during the flight they suddenly increased to 20 MPH and the pilot was required to make a high-speed landing on a rolling, cultivated farm field. On landing, the basket bounced and was dragged across the field. One passenger sustained a broken leg and another abrasion injuries. The other occupants were uninjured and the ballon was not damaged.
