Incident at Edmonton, AB

1997-06-04: A shipment of freight being loaded into the forward cargo hold of the a/c was found to be leaking a strong-smelling substance. Maintenance opened the freight and discovered two cans of aerosol paint, one of which had emptied and seeped through the box onto the floor of the a/c. The compartment was cleared of all contents in order to enable a clean-up and lifting of the floor to inspect the underside. It was found that the paint had not gone through the floor so the clean-up was completed and the cargo re-loaded. The shipper had declared the freight as "parts". The contents are being held at international air cargo.
