Incident at Villeneuve, AB

Summary

1997-05-26: While doing circuits on Runway 16, the pilot reported a loss of engine power and said an immediate landing was necessary. While the pilot did not use the word "emergency", the controller assessed that the situation was an emergency and gave C-GWHE priority by telling the preceding a/c, which was on final, to go around. C-GWHE landed safely about 1450Z, and the pilot later referred to carburetor ice as the probable cause of the power loss.
