Incident at Canadian airspace - Winnipeg

Summary

1997-04-25: Information was received from Minneapolis Center at 0228Z indicating that a bomb threat had been made involving ANZ 2, a Boeing 747 enroute from Los Angeles to London. According to Minneapolis, the threat had been made on a note written on a boarding pass. The boarding pass was not valid for this flight, but was valid for the previous leg from London to Los Angeles. The pilot was aware of the situation and the company was taking the threat seriously. ANZ 2 entered Canadian airspace south of Brandon at approximately 0300Z and the flight continued through the Winnipeg FIR in a routine manner, with the pilot not making any comment on the situation. ARU and Montreal ACC were provided with the above information.
