Incident at Grande Prairie, AB


1997-04-22: A Cessna 172, C-GNWG, was on a 1/2 mile final for landing with C-GPJR, a Piper Arrow, on a 3 mile final for the same runway. C-GPJR was overtaking the Cessna on the approach and after the Cessna landed and stopped on the runway, the Piper continued the approach and eventually took evasive action (overshoot) at an altitude estimated to be 20-30 ft. AGL. The pilot of the Piper did not respond to requests for intentions from the FSS. Weather was CAVOK. Possible regulatory action.
