Incident at Calgary

Summary

1997-04-14: The crew reported an unsafe nose gear indication inbound to Calgary. The landing gear of the Fokker F-28 was recycled, but the unsafe indication remained. During a low pass, maintenance and the tower indicated that the gear appeared down. The a/c landed without incident. ERS was on standby for the landing. Maintenance examination found that a malfunction in the downlock mechanism prevented activation of the nosegear microswitch.
