Incident at Calgary, Alberta

Summary

1997-03-26: Just after the crew had reached the top of climb, an electrical burn odor was noticed in the forward part of the cabin. Attempts to isolate the problem were unsuccessful and the odor persisted. The crew contacted company maintenance and elected to divert to Calgary. The Boeing 737 landed without incident on runway 28 in Calgary. ERS was not requested. The passengers were transferred to a different aircraft and proceeded to Winnipeg. Maintenance is examining the aircraft.
