Incident at Calgary, Alberta

Summary

1997-03-24: While eight miles final on the ILS approach for runway 28 at Calgary, the pilot received a TCAS RA to climb. The pilot executed an aggressive go-around with the RA commanding a 6000 FPM climb. During the go around the crew sighted a small aircraft, estimating separation at 500 feet. ATC was advised. The weather was VFR.
