Incident at Shamattawa, Manitoba

Summary

1997-03-20: Skyward 300, was inbound to Shamattawa with a pilot and one passenger. When the pilot selected the landing gear down, the left main gear indicated a flashing green rather than the steady green indication. The pilot then diverted the flight back to Thompson. At Thompson the pilot tested the gear position with the emergency gear extension system and found that the gear in fact was down and locked. The pilot then landed the aircraft without further incident. ERS was standing by. Company maintenance found a faulty ground wire connection at the landing gear indicator. The wiring was repaired and the aircraft was returned to service.
