Accident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

Summary

1997-03-05: The pilot of BE10 landed on runway 20, the brakes locked and the aircraft veered off the runway into a snow bank. The pilot of a PA31 pulled-up and was sent to runway 12. The BE10 was towed. Runway 02/20 was closed for 30 minutes. UPDATE: The King Air 100 landed with three of the four brakes frozen and swerved off the runway, damaging the right-hand propeller and one runway light. The runway was closed for 30 minutes and ERS were called out after the event. The pilot reported the runway at Zama Lake was snow covered to a depth of about two inches.
