Accident at Winnipeg, Manitoba (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1997-02-17: The aircraft was on approach to runway 18 at Winnipeg International Airport when it contacted the ground and crashed at 2344Z, 250 feet short of the button of runway 18. The left main wheel and nose wheel were torn off and there was damage to the nose fuselage area of the aircraft. All three occupants were taken to the hospital for observation and treatment of minor injuries. Runway 18 was closed for about four hours as a result of the accident.
