Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba

1997-01-13: While taxiing for departure, from Winnipeg IFR to Calgary, the pilot reported smoke and possible fire in the starboard engine. ERS responded. There was no damage or injuries. It was reported that venting fuel due to a stuck waste vent was ignited as it came in contact with a hot manifold. The situation was normal after the fuel burnt off. UPDATE: It was determined that the starboard fuel tank cap was leaking and fuel was flowing down the wing and onto the exhaust manifold where it was ignited. The fuel cap was resecured and the aircraft continued its flight.
