Incident at Gander Oceanic


1997-12-18: GTCDI HS25 enroute Keflavik to Goose Bay was issued a clearance to descend from FL280 to cross 61 North at FL270. When the aircraft progress by 61 North at FL280 Gander became aware that the aircraft was at the incorrect altitude and immediately cleared the aircraft to FL270. Lateral spacing had eroded to aprx 40 nm with OLIVE40 C135 where 60 nm was required. Both aircraft MNPS certified. Regulatory infraction filed. Nil TSB
