Incident at Moncton NB


1997-11-25: C-GNPE PA44 reported a gear problem. Did a fly-by in front of tower. Three wheels showing down but no indication they were secure. ERS requested to standby. Aircraft landed safely 1700z. No other assistance required. TSB evaluating. Other interested parties MAH-QM Update: The landing gear down indicator lights are wired through the Nav Light Switch so that the gear down indicator lights are dimmed when the Nav Light Switch is selected to "ON". Maintenance indentified that the Nav light Switch had malfunctioned causing the gear down indicator lights to lose their electrical ground preventing them from illuminating. The Nav Light Switch was replaced.
