Accident at HAVELOCK NB (CCS5)

1997-10-08: CFXUV Homebuilt KITFOX was on a local flight in the Havelock area at 2000 ft when the engine quit. While attempting to land at Havelock the aircraft landed approx. 100 ft short of the runway. Minor damage to one wingtip and moderate damage to the landing gear. While preparing the aircraft for take-off, several people helped the pilot unfold the wings. During this activity, the left fuel line became pinched and blocked the fuel flow from the left tank to the front fuel reservoir and there was only residue fuel in the right tank. After a short time in the air, the reservoir emptied and the engine quit. TSB case closed.
