Incident at Gander Oceanic

Summary

1997-08-25: EWW833 DC8 FL310 enroute London to Newburgh NY with a cargo of horses when pilot reported a complete loss of normal oxygen system. Aircraft requested descent but Gander ACC unable due traffic. Pilot declared an emergency and completed contingency plan to descend to FL100. Aircraft cleared to Gander and landed 1458z. Maintenance in Gander replenished oxygen and no leaks were identified. Aircraft returned to service and departed for destination 1612z. No TSB involvement.
