Incident at Fredericton NB (Security acts)

Summary

1997-08-25: At 2026z Fredericton Airport received a bomb threat. The terminal building was evacuated at this time. At 2036z the FSS staff was evacuated and was now operating from the Firehall at the Airport. At 2058z an object was found and beleived to be a bomb of some sort. The bomb disposal unit was called in. Aircraft on the ground were not allowed to depart and aircraft that landed were not allowed to disembark passengers. At aprx 2130z, some aircraft were allowed to depart after co-ordination with the RCMP. At 2200z all clear at Fredericton Airport. Nil TSB involvement.
