Incident at Fredericton NB

Summary

1997-06-24: ARN817 enroute IFR Saint John NB to Fredericton inbound for runway 27 was given a landing advisory for runway 33. At 2126z ARN871 requests confirmation of no traffic and was advised that there was no reported traffic. Upon landing at 2128z, pilot advised that he had an alert on traffic at about 1500 feet in the vicinity of the VOR and that he had picked up several TCAS indications in CYR724 helipad area. Check with CGB Gagetown idicates that a BH41 helicopter was doing a VFR flight along an IFR route and no contact was suppose to be at 3500 feet. Discussed with Moncton ACC and BATCO Gagetown investigating.
