Incident at Halifax Intl


1997-04-23: Air Nova aircraft CGRNZ was involved in maintenance taxi tests to correct a nose wheel shimy. Upon returning to the ramp area the starboard brake temperature rose rapidly and the brake assembly caught fire. Fire crews extinguished the fire. No fire damage and the fire was in the brake assembly only. Fuse plugs on the tires blew due to temperature rise on the brakes resulting in deflated tires on the starboard side. Emergency was secured at 0200Z.
