Incident at 5830N/3400W

Summary

1997-03-24: UAL 917 a Boeing 777 registered N969UA was operating at FL350 on track "D" advised they had a passenger with a heart attack. There was a Doctor on board. They requested clearance direct to Keflavik but ATC was unable due to traffic. Pilot advised that he was declaring an emergency descending to FL340 and proceeding to Keflavik direct. Aircraft crossed nine other aircraft at FL330 and FL350 with a 1000 foot separation. Contingency procedure was followed.
