Incident at Halifax Tower (ATM - other)

Summary

1997-01-31: At 2135Z fumes were noticed in the Halifax tower by the staff. At 2140Z approproiate agencies had been notified and an evacuation of the facility was being organized. Staffing was reduced to two people during this period. Problem was traced to an OIDS Display in the tower and this was disconnected from the power source. Service was back to normal by 2240Z. No aircraft delays were encountered during this period.
