Incident at Halifax NS

Summary

1997-01-23: LAL 642 on a flight from Charlottetown to Halifax had no indication on the landing gear light on approach to Halifax. Overshot at 1403Z. Tower indicated that the gear appeared to be down. Landed safely on runway 24 at 1415Z. Aircraft departed Halifax under their MEL for Charlottetown where repairs would be done. UPDATE: After touchdown at Halifax with ERS on standby the right gear light, which was out, illuminated. The aircraft was flown to Charlottetown with the landing gear down under MEL 32-4. The right landing gear actuator had recently been replaced. Maintenance in Charlottetown cleaned and adjusted the right landing gear down microswitch and returned the aircraft to service.
