Incident at VANCOUVER INTL BC (CYVR) (TCAS alert, Conflict - loss of separation)


1997-01-31: CDN661(B737) was cleared to descend to 11,000 ft on approach to Vancouver, but the captain mis-set the altitude alert to 10,000 ft. At the same time CDR1361, DHC8 was at 10,000 feet approaching Vancouver and was 1.5 NM behind the B737. A loss of separation occurred when the B737 descended through 10,800 feet, and the B737 TCAS warning sounded. The B737 then climbed back to 11,000 ft. and both aircraft notified ATC.
