Incident at Prince Rupert

1996-08-27: Truck 81 had been cleared onto taxiway B for sweeping operations. At 1803 HU50 ZK-HOQ advised departing the airport ramp on Digby Island. FSS provided the helicopter with a departure advisory which did not include the vehicle operation on Taxi B. The helicopter departed the ramp and slowly proceeded toward and down Taxi B before departing northbound. The helicopter's path conflicted with the vehicle. At the time of departure, the pilot did not respond to the FSS advisory or to subsequent calls from FSS. When reporting clear of the MF area, the pilot advised he had some "finger trouble" with the radio receiver.
