Incident at Victoria Harbour, British Columbia


1997-01-31: At 0048Z, the S-76 called taxiing at Camel Point for a departure via Discovery Island for YVR. Aircraft was given advisory including an arriving and departing DH2. Approx. 20 seconds later, TN1455T a DH2T called 7 southeast with the advisory inbound for landing. At 0051Z, JBA725 called 4 nroth of Discovery Island and was given the advisroy with traffic as a Turbo Beaver reported 7 southeast inbound and company traffic off 2 minutes ago outbound via Discovery. At 0055Z, JBA860 cleared at Discovery and asked if the FSS had passed traffic inbound from the southeast. He was advised that the traffic had called shortly after his departure. The pilot of JBA860 called indicating he had taken evasive action to avoid a DH2T.
