Incident at Victoria, British Columbia (ATS operating irregularity)

Summary

1997-01-29: The C182 was VFR and climbing northwesterly through 6000' in VMC enroute from Victoria to Campbell River. The IFR military P3 Orion (Demon 83) was descending southeasterly to 6000' in VMC enroute from Comox to Victoria. Approximately 10 miles northwest of Victoria airport the cessna pilot was required to take evasive action to avoid the military aircraft. TC ATS are conducting a fact finding board.
